Excellent responses to IQRF Meet up

31 October 2017

More than 40 representatives of IQRF Alliance members and IQRF enthusiasts met at an informal meeting in Brno last week.

The IQRF Alliance is constantly organizing events to enable members to get familiar with others, to showcase their own products and solutions, and to jointly discuss possible cooperation. This IQRF Alliance concept was improved during the last meeting for CZ/SK members and IQRF enthusiasts in Brno, last week.

Usually, a formal meeting is held, full of presentations of projects, products and information about companies. However, participants do not have enough time to network with others, and thus the most popular part of the meeting takes place during dinner. Therefore, the IQRF Alliance has decided to have an informal meeting in a smaller format that has moved straight into the restaurant for good food and drink, where everyone has enough time to discuss common interests, collaborative opportunities, and learn the latest news in the IQRF wireless technology.

Speaking at the beginning of the event, Simon Chudoba, CEO of the IQRF Alliance, introduced the IQRF Alliance to those who visited IQRF event for the first time, and presented the upcoming steps for the IQRF Alliance. Vladimír Šulc, CEO of IQRF Tech, summed up the IQRF wireless technology and introduced visions for the future. Rostislav Špinar, Technical Expert, presented the progress made in developing the IQRF Daemon for easy gateway control. Eventually, Hynek Syrovátka, CTO of the IQRF Alliance, introduced the certification process that allows members to certify their own products as IQRF Interoperable, indicating to potential customers that implementation and linking with existing IQRF devices takes place without complications in a few steps. In conclusion, Mr. Syrovátka showed the upcoming IQRF Repository to serve as the "drivers database" of all devices provided in the IQRF Ecosystem. This means that when IQRF mesh is built, each product will find its own latest drivers, and the whole solution will easy to set up - plug-n-play. Everyone was able to present their own company and products, and individual conversations between individual meeting participants followed.

The next day the IQRF Alliance organized a seminar for students of technical disciplines, which took place in the modern building of Brno Technical University. During the seminar on "How to build your own IoT Solution" there was a theoretical section full of interesting IQRF information followed by a practical part, where each student experimented with the IoT Starter Kit. The IoT Starter Kit development set includes a powerful UP Board from AAEON Europe, a member of the IQRF Alliance, and IQRF transceivers for building a wireless mesh network.

The seminar has earned a real success among students and has awakened the passion for IQRF in many.

IQRF Alliance would like to provide this flexible concept of events also in other cities and countries to all members of the IQRF Alliance and IQRF friends. The IQRF Alliance is already working on other similar events. If you would like to suggest a venue in your neighbourhood, feel free to get in touch with Ivona Spurná, Event Coordinator, or Jan Pešl, Online Marketing Specialist, or contact us at alliance@iqrf.org.
