TERA system for measuring and regulating of radon concentration in buildings
The TERA system allows measuring and regulating radon concentration in residential spaces wirelessly. Radon measuring probes distributed in a building transmit the current radon concentration values to the central unit wirelessly. If the set values are exceeded, the central unit will send a wireless command to the air-conditioning unit (fan) and ensures that the contaminated spaces will be vented. The TERA regulating system represents cheap and energy-saving nondestructive solution of curative anti-radon action not only for existing buildings.

Radon measuring probes distributed in a building transmit their current radon concentration values to the central unit wirelessly. The central unit analyzes this information and on the basis of the measured (set) concentration level value it sends a wireless command to the actuator which is hardwired with a power relay. The power relay switches on the fan which will vent the volume activity of radon. After measuring and analyzing a low volume activity of radon, the actuator will receive a command to switch the fan off. This cycle repeats depending on an increasing or decreasing volume activity of radon in the building. If the radio signal strength between individual elements is insufficient, a repeater must be used to extend the signal.
